Competent Financial ("we", "us") helps business owners get quotes from independent, US-based bookkeeping and accounting professionals. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
Information you provide in our questionnaire, such as your name, email, phone number, business details, and the services you need, plus basic technical data like device and usage information.
Your answers are saved each time you move to the next step of the questionnaire, even if you don't finish it. We may use the contact details you've entered to follow up about your request. Partial answers are never shared with professionals unless you submit your request.
How we use it
To get quotes from suitable US-based professionals, let the professionals who pick up your request contact you, communicate with you about your request, and improve our service.
Sharing with professionals
When you submit a quote request, vetted professionals on our marketplace can see your request details without your name or contact information. Professionals pay Competent Financial a fee to receive your name, business name, email and phone so they can contact you with quotes. No more than three professionals receive your details for each request, and only one if a professional takes your request exclusively. We do not share your details with anyone else for their marketing.
Advertising measurement
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. It records page visits and when a quote request is submitted, along with technical data such as your browser, device, IP address and Meta cookies, and shares this with Meta Platforms to measure and improve our ads. We do not send your name, email, phone or answers to Meta. The pixel does not run for visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. You can limit ad tracking in your Facebook ad preferences or your browser settings, or contact us to opt out.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time by contacting us.
